Steps to becoming a private investigator:

STEP 1: You are legally required to get your Security Worker License with ‘Private Investigator under supervision’ designation before becoming a private investigator in British Columbia. This is an online course called “Introduction to Private Investigation.” You are required to write the exam, in person, at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. Register for your course here.

STEP 2:  Once you pass the course, you need to apply for your Security Worker License.

STEP 3: Fill out our application form (all fields required):
