“Beer, it’s the best damn drink in the world.”–Jack Nicholson
Jim Rockford, of The Rockford Files always had a beer on hand. Inspector Morse’s favourite drink was beer because he was able to think better over a pint. And, Detective Inspector John Rebus frequently ordered a pint of beer at his favourite watering hole, the Oxford bar.
The smart private investigator should take a page from their fictional counterparts and drink beer. Beer has many benefits, including the following:
Helps you sleep. Every private investigator understands the benefit of a good night’s before a long day of doing surveillance. You’re more alert and able to focus on what your subject is doing.
Fortunately, beer can help. The hops in beer act as a natural sedative. It also contains lactoflavin and nicotinic acid, which helps promote sleep.
Improves your memory. There are times you will observe something about your subject that you haven’t caught on video. This is where your memory becomes important.
Beer drinkers are 23 per cent less likely to have issues with their memory when they are older.
Reduces stress. Being a private investigator can be stressful. You may worry about being discovered by someone you are following or losing your subject.
Beer contains nutrients, such as B vitamins, magnesium, and protein, which can decrease stress and anxiety, and improve your mood.
High in fiber. Any private investigator that has been constipated while conducting surveillance has first-hand experience on the importance of staying regular.
Beer has approximately one gram of soluble fiber per 12-ounce bottle. In addition to promoting healthy digestion, fiber helps decrease the levels of bad cholesterol.
What’s your favourite beer?
The only question that remains is how much beer to drink, and what to drink.
Beer is the drink of moderation and should be drunk in moderation; however, this should not prevent you from drinking everyday.
Kusic and Kusic staff stay true to our Canadian roots. We do this by drinking a lot of beer.
Beer provides one of 100 Canadian jobs, and the average Canadian drinks 80 litres per person. We pride ourselves on drinking more than the national average. It’s our way of giving back.
We love to drink some of the stronger European beers with lots of hops, such as Stella Artois and Moretti. And, we do our share to support craft beers by consuming Stanley Park Pilsner, R&B Bohemian Lager, and Steam Whistle Pilsner.
Most importantly, we love great tasting beers.
Make drinking beer an important part of your life, for the sake of your health, and out of a love for beer.K&K Private Investigators, Kusic and Kusic Ltd., Private Investigators
